AS PART OF CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
Spotlighting inspiring women and honoring the empowered women in 2021,
I captured on Apple’s latest model, iPhone 12, the Women of the Desert in Dubai.
I'm really grateful for this opportunity and to HHC to transmit the UAE graceful heritage, to the World.
WOMEN FROM THE DESERT
I've been passionate about the beauty of the Arabian Peninsula for as long as I can remember.
In 2015 my passion became a reality as I followed the ancient paths of the Silk Road.
The beauty of the Arabian Peninsula never ceases to amaze me as I covered 2300 km of ancient caravan tracks of the Frankincense from 2019 on camelback.
Since ancient times, hospitality has been the most important cultural aspect in the Arab home.
As a woman photographer, I had the opportunity to get deeper connections with the women and I was always welcomed like a family member. I accessed the hidden beauty of the woman’s life, which inspired me to know more about the empowerment of the woman.
In this futuristic city of Dubai, there is a very deep hidden history of the Bedouin Women.
These women are really inspiring. As a traveler myself, I've been listening to their ancestors' stories.
They traveled according to the flow of the seasons in the vast desert, shifting between the earth and the sky. The women were taking care of the house and protecting their families.
Handicraft knowledge was transmitted from mothers to daughters, the technique of Ghazel, using sheep wool in creating Bait Al Sha’ar tents, blankets, camel gears… preserving the Emirati heritage.
